Top 10 Tips on Buying a Trampoline

Buying a garden trampoline? Follow these top 10 trampoline buying tips and you will find the right trampoline for you and your children that will give years of fun.

1. If I buy a trampoline, will it get used or ignored?

We find all parents are surprised once they have bought a trampoline just how much use it gets and we hear time and again them saying, "..the trampoline was the best thing we have ever bought for our children - they are on it every day". These are the comments after just a week and also after several years.

2. Should I buy a circular or rectangular trampoline?

Circular trampolines are most common for use in the garden as they are less powerful than the rectangular trampolines which are used by experienced gymnasts. The circular trampolines naturally direct the jumper to the centre of the trampoline mat so making them safer. For most children it would be too dangerous for them to use a rectangular trampoline at home without constant expert supervision for them and their friends.

3. Does size matter?

Make sure you know how much room the trampoline will take up in the garden. Round trampolines sold in the UK have a size measured in feet which refers to the diameter (or overall width from the very outside of the frame, across the centre, to outside of frame the other side). Sizes can range from as small as 6ft up to a whopping 16ft. You will also need to allow approximately 18 inches around the trampoline to allow room for the enclosure net to flex when a user falls against it. The best site in your garden for your new trampoline will ideally be fairly level and free from overhanging cables and branches. Why not measure and lay rope out on your lawn to get an idea of the space it will take up before you buy a trampoline online to avoid a surprise when it arrives. It is always a good idea to get the biggest trampoline with enclosure that will fit and also that the budget will afford. Don't forget - most adults love to be big kids and will definitely want to use the trampoline as well!

4. How long will they last?

Many modern trampolines are built to last and last and come with warranties of 5 years or so. With that in mind, don't just choose a trampoline which is big enough for your child to use now - pick one that will still be ideal for your child to use in years to come. It will save you having to buy a bigger one after a couple of years.

5. How do I choose which supplier to use?

A trampoline package will be large and heavy so most people will not have a car big enough to collect one and take it home from a shop. The majority of trampolines are therefore home delivered by a mail order or internet supplier. You should pick one that specialises in trampolines as they can advise you on choice of trampoline, installation and ongoing product support will be invaluable. They will also hold a stock of parts and accessories that you may require in the future. Try phoning them to see how much they know about their own models. Some suppliers sell many different products and could well be selling something else next year just when you are in need of a spare part or an accessory. Find out how long they have been selling trampolines.

6. What features of the product should I look out for?

Frame - the frame of the trampoline is about the most important part, these are usually made of galvanised steel (a process that coats the metal against rust) and better quality ones will have the galvanised protection both on the inside and outside of the tubing. Frames that are powder-coated might be cheaper but provide much less protection against rust. The weakest part of the frame can be where the circular ring joins the uprights. On most trampolines this is a welded joint but these welds can be of poor quality and even good quality welds may crack in time and render the trampoline useless. Atlantic Trampolines, for example, use a patented T-joint for their trampolines which avoids the need for a weld and the difficulties that can result from this method of construction.

Bounce mat and Spring Padding - the bounce mat needs to be strong and hard wearing. It also needs to be smooth when a jumper falls against it with their bare skin. Better trampolines use a mat made of Permatron Polypropylene which is also UV resistant and will stand up to years of exposure to direct sunlight. The spring padding is also exposed to bright sunlight and the PE material used by many manufacturers will crack after a year or so of use. Atlantic Trampolines, for example, use Polyester on the top surface of their spring padding which provides a much longer life span.

Number of springs - manufacturers will normally state how many springs they use for each size of trampoline they sell. Larger trampolines will have more springs than smaller ones. However, when comparing similar size trampolines from different manufacturers the one with the most springs is not necessarily the best or most powerful. The number of springs needed for the optimum bounce is related to the weight of the user. A large number of springs can make it very hard or impossible for a young child to bounce. If in doubt ask your supplier's advice.

Weight limit - most trampolines will specify a maximum safe weight limit. A weight limit of around 100kg (16 stone) should be ample for most families.

7. What accessories should I consider buying?

Safety enclosure - always pick a trampoline set that includes a safety enclosure. No matter what age the users are, or how careful they are, you can be sure that without one fitted there will be an accidental fall from the trampoline. If an enclosure is not fitted you will also have to allow extra space around the trampoline in case of falls. There are many different designs of safety enclosure on the market. As long as there is good safety padding over the springs then a net that secures on the outside of the trampoline circular frame is ideal. This will maximise the usable space inside and an adventurous somersaulter will not be hindered by a net located inside the springs.

Ladder - a trampoline ladder is essential as it allows easy access for older but especially younger children. They are also less likely to jump off the trampoline and risk an injury. If you have very young children you can stop them accessing the trampoline when you are not present by taking the ladder away. We recommend a ladder that has flat steps rather than tubular steps as these can be uncomfortable for children to use without shoes on. Some suppliers will automatically include a ladder with the trampoline but others will sell it as an extra item.

Weather cover - an all weather trampoline cover goes over the trampoline mat and protects it from leaves and bird droppings. It will usually have a hole in the centre to allow water to pass through.

Anchor Kit - a trampoline anchor kit is essential if you are leaving your trampoline out in the garden all year round. Although the trampoline is a heavy piece of equipment we have seen them lift off the ground, even in small gardens, where they have the potential to get damaged or cause damage to your house and other property. An anchor kit helps keep the trampoline secure to the ground during windy weather.

8. I've seen pictures of trampoline tents, what are they all about?

Special trampoline tents have been designed to sit like a dome on the trampoline and fold down like the roof on a convertible car so the user can bounce or use the tent with ease. Tents can provide a useful all-weather play area for younger children and protect them from strong sunlight. For older children they offer the flexibility to turn the trampoline into a den or space for a sleepover. Whatever reason they are bought for, it means the trampoline can be used in all weathers and at all stages of the year!

9. What about delivery?

When comparing prices of products online, don't forget to check what the delivery charge would be. Some retailers add a fixed delivery price, some charge extra based on the weight of the packages and some even offer free delivery. Delivery of the product to your home will normally be during the working week but some will offer Saturday delivery for an additional payment. The product is heavy and the driver might require assistance. Make sure there is somewhere safe and undercover to store it until you are ready to put the trampoline together.

10. What if I need to know more?

If you are unsure about anything, ring or email the retailer and ask. It will help to clarify your point and will also give you a chance to see how well they know their products and if you feel you can buy from them with confidence.

At Atlantic Trampolines we are most definitely serious about fun.

Teaching Power Tool Safety To Children

Teaching power tool safety to children is a critical step of parenthood. Even if your son or daughter shows no interest in heavy-duty woodworking, metalworking, or construction, they will still need to learn how to protect themselves while other people are using power tools. Fortunately the method for teaching safety is simple. Use the five steps below, and you and your child will both share a fine memory.

The first step in teaching power tool safety to children is to practice what you preach. If you say wearing eye protection is important but you don't wear safety goggles yourself, you are sending a powerful-and dangerous-message to your child. Both of you should put on your eye protection, ear protection, and closed-toe shoes. Both of you should roll up your sleeves, keep clothing tight to your bodies, and tie back long hair. Lead by example, and follow the rules you set for your child.

Your second goal should be to make sure power tools are age appropriate. The best method is to start teaching safety through hand tools, such as a small handsaw, and then work your way up to more complex power tools once your son or daughter feels comfortable. This approach can also be more educational, since explaining the mechanics of a slow-moving, controllable Phillips screwdriver can be a lot easier than teaching the science behind a whirling cordless screwdriver.

Third, clear the workshop and focus your child's attention. Make sure that you both have enough room to work without tripping on cords, knocking down tools, or bumping into each other. Clear an adequate amount of space, and then double-check that there are no remaining distractions or interruptions. Your little student should not be distracted by dogs barking, siblings fighting, phone calls, iPod music, or anything else that could suddenly grab his attention and risk cuts, bruises, or worse.

Now you are ready to teach the basics of power tool safety. Show how tools should be held when they are in use, carried or put down when they are not, and turned off and stored when the job is done. Let children pick up the tools-powered off and unplugged-and investigate them before the initial trial. Just like with scissors, explain why running with power tools is not a good idea. Demonstrate how to control each power tool and possibly what can happen when the tool gets out of control-without hurting yourself! Remember that children's hands are smaller, so they may need the help of a vise or clamps to stabilize materials while they hold the power tool with both hands.

Finally, start the session slowly and begin with low-powered, "safer" tools. Be ready to help your child and take over if necessary. To make this first experience more fun, you may want to take your son or daughter to a kids' power tool class offered by one of the major home improvement chains. Working alongside other children may minimize your child's fears and your own. Even after teaching power tool safety to children, always supervise their actions. Make the introduction both safe and fun, and you will certainly work together on many more projects.

Daily Welding Safety Tips You Must Use!

There are many different jobs in which a certain set of skills is required. If you are a welder, you know that you must have the right knowledge about welding safety. If you are unsure about the right safety on the job, look here at this guide and get these top tips to help you out! You always want to make sure that you are being as safe as possible out there!

Of course you need to know the job and know how to do it properly. Welding does require a certificate at least in order to start working in a shop. You can also choose a welding specialty and work within a field. Some welders work in car garages, and others will work in plumbing or construction. It all depends on what you are looking to get into. You must know the ins and outs of the job before you even start!

There are training courses that you can sign up for in order to learn more about welding safety. These courses should not be taken lightly, so make sure that you are paying attention and taking notes. If and when you run into an emergency situation, you will have the proper safety knowledge to act quickly and possibly safe lives in the process. Look for these training courses at work or even online for extra help.

A helmet might need to be used depending on where you are welding. It is always wise to invest in a helmet that is going to last and keep your head safe at all times. Look for these helmets online and ensure that you choose the proper size for your head. You can get helmets fitted so that you do not have to worry about your helmet coming loose for falling off during the day.

Along with your helmet, you will also need to have goggles and gloves. Protecting your eyes is vital when you are working with welding tools. You do not want sparks to get into your eyes, otherwise you could be blinded and hindered for the rest of your life. Your gloves will work to protect your hands while you are working as well. These gloves need to be able to withstand heat so buy the proper pair!

Welders that may be doing this a lot longer than you have been will tell you that you need to pay attention. If you look away for even a second, you could slip and injure yourself severely or even one of your co workers. Do not look away from what you are doing at any moment in time. Stay focused and you will all stay as safe as possible!

Try to do everything that you can to minimize accidents. Even when not welding, and just in the warehouse, you still need to be safe. Watch out for your fellow workers and there will be no accidents to report. Most companies will have an accident chart to let employees how long they have gone without any accident report!

You need to make sure that you do what you can to learn proper welding safety. Those who do not pay attention or take this seriously, often are the ones that experience some sort of injury. Keep yourself as safe as possible and you should have a find work environment to look forward to!

Power Tools - A Handyman's Guide

Power tools can make any building project or home repair much easier and save a lot of time. If you are a do-it-yourself advocate or just enjoy projects around the house, investing in some good power tools is a wise decision. With so many tools on the market, there are a few that should be in your collection.

Circular Saws:

These saws are used primarily for cutting wood, but they can be used for cutting other materials as well, such as metal, masonry and plastic. The saw consists of a metal disc with teeth that's held by a base. When the saw is powered, the disc or blade rotates at varying speeds to cut through the selected object or material. Circular saws can be hand- held or table- mounted, and left or right-handed, depending on the side of the blade where the motor sits and which hand the operator uses when holding a saw. The saw base can be adjusted to select the depth and angle of the cut.

Mitre Saws:

This saw is used to make quick, accurate crosscuts or angle cuts, used typically to cut

molding, frames, or wood pieces that need a mitered corner. Mitre saws are fairly small and portable, with blades from 8 to 12 inches long that can be adjusted to different degrees. Good quality saws have blade guards, which automatically retract when the saw is lowered to make a cut and re-cover the blade when the saw is raised. This feature makes this power tool very safe to use. The saw has an attached dust bag that collects the sawdust that builds while the saw is in use.

Angle Grinders:

This is a hand-held tool used for cutting, grinding and polishing and widely used in construction and in emergency rescues. They are common tools used in workshops, service garages and auto body repair shops. There are many different kinds of discs that are used depending on the material and the task: abrasive grinding discs, grinding stones, sanding discs, wheels and polishing pads. There is typically an adjustable guard and a side-handle for two-handed operation. Some angle grinders can also be used as sanders with a sanding disc.

Cordless Drills:

A drill is a tool that is fitted with a tool attachment used for drilling holes in various materials or fastening materials together. When powered, the attachment tool rotates at various speeds while pressed against a material, such as wood. Cordless drills are used in all types of construction, repairs, metalwork and woodworking jobs. These very efficient drills are usually lightweight, hand-held tools that are powered by batteries, either standard or rechargeable. This power tool is one of the most popular and useful tools that is essential to have around.

Welding Flux - The Information Article

Welding flux is also known as Flux core welding, is a semi automatic welding process which uses a tubular electrode that creates flux with constant voltage. A flux is a material used to prevent, dissolve or facilitate removal of oxides and other undesirable substances. This is one of the high end demands nowadays due to its increased used in construction segment. Its portability and quick use in construction has made it a favorite choice among people.

The welding is divided in two types. Its one type uses shielding gas while another does not. The shielding gas is not required with the first type cause the flux used in it already has a characteristic to resolve a contamination issue, thus, it acts as its own shield. This is the reason, most of the welder opts for first type of welding in constructional use.

There are many benefits of using first type of welding, some of them are:-

This can be used for many purposes, ranging from adjoining two metals to convert it into filler materials. These can be used in windy conditions as well. Its most important benefit is, you do not require to pre-clean the metal before welding. Adding one more advantage to the use of welding, its manufacturer recommend it for recently skilled laborers too, as it does not require extreme level of skills.

Type One Welding - Type one welding-flux can be used on most of the steel sheets which makes welding an enhanced choice among users. Nonetheless, there are many disadvantages also. Some of them are:

If the welder is not frequent with using type one welding on base metal sheets, it can result in a melted contact tip. Another major issue is if the machine is not feeding the wire properly, irregular on the wire can be resulted. Sometimes, improper use can also lead to a condition known as porosity is the gases are not releasing properly before the metal. This may lead for the holes to be made inside the metal that is been welded.

Second Type Welding - Second type is used as an outside support due to its shielding gas. It's normally used to adjoin different steels together. This type of welding process is the most effective in welding thick sheets of metal however while using this, you need to be aware of outside air conditions, as too much of wind can create slag.

Emma Heuton is a writer who writes on several topics. Mostly she writes on SME, Business, products and manufacturing units. To provide useful insights, she prefers to study comprehensively. You can also find information on Welding Flux in this article but if looking for more information on it, you may visit http://www.hellotrade.com.

Overview of Plasma Cutter and Welding

A plasma cutter is a tool that is used in the type of welding called PAW or Plasma Arc Welding. Plasma in this case is actually a gas and it has been ionized by heating it to a high temperature. Plasma at this point is actually able to conduct electricity and it uses a small hole to transfer an electric arc to the piece that the welder is welding.

Plasma is a gas and it automatically happened when you put gas under very high temperatures. Heat actually will create a chemical reaction with the gas and the welder gets a very strong tool that can cut through many things.

Although this may seem mysterious, plasma also is the power within neon signs, plasma displays and even fluorescent lights. All of these things use what is called "cool" plasma and this type is not the type that cuts metal.

The welder will find that plasma cutters come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Some use robotic arms so they can make more precise cuts. Others are handheld units and very compact which are the type that some people use in their home shops.

The way a plasma cutter works is like this; it sends a pressurized gas through a channel that is very small. The gas that it uses could be anything from oxygen to argon. There is an electron in the middle of the channel that is negatively charged. When power is applied to this electrode, and the tip of the nozzle from the plasma cutter is touched onto the metal a circuit is created.

This connection then creates a spark between the metal and the electrode. Finally, the gas is heated by the spark and you get a plasma stream that is directed to the metal, reducing it to a metal slag. After this, you have a piece of metal that has been cut to your specification by a plasma beam.

There are a variety of uses for plasma cutters. Many automobile shops use them to create frames and chassis especially when they want to customize them. You will them in construction companies because they are adaptable to fabricate and cut the very large beams for constructing buildings or to cut large sheets of metals. Some locksmiths will use a plasma cutter to help a customer who has inadvertently locked their keys in their safe.

Although plasma cutters were originally very expensive and only used in large industrial shops, they have become a staple of use for some types of hobbies in home shops. There are metal workers and artists who use them to create interesting looking art. They use the more portable, hand held plasma cutters.

Plasma cutters can be fast or slow to cut the metal, but it will depend more on the thickness of the material as to how quickly it performs the cut. Also, the type of cutter purchased will depend on what it is to do. In choosing one, you have to make sure that it will cut a variety of sizes; choose one that is capable of cutting something larger than what you would normally want it to cut.

Buggy Construction Tips Using Dune Buggy Plans

So you want to tear up the dunes with your own dune buggy but you're not sure whether to buy a complete turn key buggy or use some dune buggy plans to build your own? Well firstly there are a number of issues you need to address before you decide which route to take.

The main factor that people consider when deciding to buy/build a dune buggy is the cost of the project, how much is it going to cost me if i decide to buy one Vs. build one myself? Now i can't give you an accurate figure for each as it will depend on where you live, how much shipping will cost and how much materials cost in your area if you decide to build one. It will also depend on how skilled you are with metal fabrication, welding etc. If you will have to pay for a shop to fabricate the parts you need you will obviously be paying more in the end compared to someone who can do it all themselves in their own garage/workshop.

But most of the time its cheaper (and more fun!) to build a buggy yourself. For most people this is easily achievable in their own garage or workshop as long as you have some basic tools and machinery or you have access to some, you know things like a welder, tube bender, grinder, drill press, you get the picture. I should mention that you can hire these things too if you want to or just take the specialized tasks to your local engineering shop. Usually when you tell the guys what its for they get pretty interested and will want to know more about your project and up giving you a good price!

I highly recommend NOT designing your own dune buggy from scratch unless you know what you are doing and have experience in design. Be warned that if you do it will usually end in disaster and a half finished bundle of steel sitting in your garage. That said the most important factor in dune buggy construction is which plans to use for construction. If you get this wrong or use the cheapest or plans you can find you will regret it in the end as they rarely turn out how you first imagined. Lets face it you are about to invest quite a bit of money and time into building a dune buggy so make sure you choose quality plans from the start.

Most good quality, proven plans will set you back around $100-$200 and will give you good solid information and a step by step procedure to building your buggy. You can get plans for cheaper but usually these are quite basic and you won't get the detail you need to build the buggy properly.

Also make sure the company you are buying the plans from has some kind of support you can call on in case you get stuck and need some advice, this could be as simple as a user form that has members that have constructed their own buggies and are willing to give you advice for free. This is invaluable when building your buggy.

For me personally, building my own dune buggy is one of the most fun and most rewarding projects I have done. From cutting the first piece of steel to firing up the engine for the first time is a fantastic feeling and i definitely recommend to those of you who are considering it.

The final outcome of your dune buggy will most definitely depend on the construction plans you follow from the start. Save your time and energy searching the internet looking for dune buggy plans and take a look at my plans of choice (click on the blue link). You'll get an excellent quality buggy for a great price and most importantly you'll save time by not having to scour through the junk that's out there! Drive safely.

Welding on Mild Steel

Mild steel is defined as any steel that has low carbon in it and about 85% of welding is done using this type of steel. Usually these steels have an AISI series of C-1008 through C-1025. They are the steels that are most often used in construction or industrial fabrication. They are welded through the use of gas, arc or resistance welding.

Mild steels are resilient and they can be bended or twisted or moved into other shapes as they are welded. You can use mild steel sheets or wire to do this type of welding. You can also use it to weld pipes. As an example, you can use mild steel pipes when you want to work within air conditioning or refrigeration. This can also be used for heating when you want a low pressure.

You can also use steel wire or steel sheets to do welding on mild steel. Mild steel can be used in the following types of welding:

Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)-- this is a type of welding that uses a solid electrode wire that is continuously used as a filler metal. It also uses a shielding gas. The wire that is used is mild steel, and it can be a copper color to protect it from rusting. This will also improve the way that it conducts electricity.

Flux-Cored Arc-Welding -- this type of welding uses a wire that is covered with flux so that it will automatically give you the shielding gas. This is the favored way of doing welding on mild steels in an outdoor environment.

MIG Welding -- this is one of the easier forms of welding and is also a good idea for welding on mild steel in an indoor environment. It is one of the first types of welding that beginners learn how to do and it is a bit more flexible than other types of welding. You can also use it to weld other materials like aluminum, nickel or stainless steel.

There are advantages and disadvantages of welding many different types of wire and it is important to know what you want to do before you start. Here are a few tips as you decide to work with welding on mild steel:

Before you start working with mild steel make sure you clean the surface first. Make sure the clamp that you have on the work is tight so that it is a solid connection for the electricity to flow through it. You will also want to make sure that your steel is free of rust , paint or any other debris. Paint or rust will insulate your steel and you won't get the solid connection.

Many people forget that the welder should be put on a different circuit breaker than other things you are doing, especially when you are working at home. The reason to do this is because you are working with higher heat and it needs more power.

Make sure that the two pieces you want to weld are flush with each other or at lest have a solid joining to prevent any problems with the weld.

Best-Kept Secrets To Choosing Quality Hand Tools

It is every homeowner's responsibility and a good amount of common sense to know that having a number of quality hand tools ready for use at home is a must to invest on. However, there are a lot of hand tools available in the market today that it ends up quite confusing and a little hard to choose the ones to have at home.

Considering how hard it is financially these days, it is highly recommended to be smart in going through the options. Here are a couple of life-saving tips when it comes to getting quality hand tools.

1. Steer away from very cheap tools. They might seem like a good deal at first sight because of the lesser amount of money required acquiring them; they are not really the most cost-efficient choice. They are most of the time not of good quality, and to add to that, they do not come with the warranties that are available with the quality tools. in the long run, they are not really worth any of the money spent for them, no matter how small the amount might be.

2. Stick with what is most necessary. It is important to start out by determining what one needs when it comes to the tools that are most useful at home and for any situations. One can buy those tools that are most needed at home and the ones that are used on a regular basis. The common tools like screwdrivers, simple saw and hammers to name a few are really a must have in most households, but tools such as specific types of wrenches as well as power tools can be easily borrowed from a neighbor or friend. They can also be rented in tool rental shops. Since these tools are used once or twice a year only, they should not be on top of one's to-buy list unless there is a lot of extra cash around.

3. Research on the tools' make. The best quality hand tools are the ones made out of top quality steel. Although they are more costly, they offer the best return of investment because of their overall quality. If the budget allows, there are tools that come with an application or two of corrosion resistant finish, making the tools more long-lasting for one to use.

4. Learn a little more about what makes up the usual tool kit. The basic tool kit is composed of drills, saws, hammers, screwdrivers, sanders and a staple gun. Knowing about these tools is really helpful when looking up which ones to buy and which ones to get on some other day when splurging on things do not hurt the budget a lot. When it comes to drills, one can go around looking at different kinds of drills. They are all designed to create halls on wood. There are hand drills, electric drills, cordless drills and breast drills for larger construction activities. For the saws, the most common kinds include the band saws and circular saws. Screwdrivers, on the other hand, come in different sizes and variations for varied purposes.

Knowing about these and some more about quality hand tools make it easy for homeowners young and old. Looking up for more information about the basic tools and what they can do as well as their value in the market today are good ways to start the process of shopping for hand tools to have at home.

The Benefits of an Impact Cordless Wrench

If you are working on a construction site, you are going to need a fair amount of tools to do the job properly. While that list of tools can be rather long and extensive, in most any list of tools that you will find, an impact cordless wrench is going to be found among them. What makes this a very important tool on the job site is more than just one thing. An impact wrench is a great tool for various jobs and having one can make your life a whole lot easier and it can make your job a lot easier to complete in a timely manner.

One of the biggest draws to an impact cordless wrench is the cordless part. When you are working on a job site, sometimes the worst thing to have to deal with are power cords, especially if those job sites are outdoors, like many are, and exposed to the elements. Power cords and water are not always the greatest partners and with this situation, there could certainly be a danger to job site safety.

Another issue is accessibility. You could real waste a lot of valuable time on the job site trying to manage power cords that will reach as far as you need to go. You can string together as many cords as you want to get power to your wired impact wrench, but it is time-consuming and it can quickly turn into just one more headache that you do not need when you are trying to get a job done. In addition, without having to deal with a huge amount of extension cords, you have the ability of taking your impact cordless wrench just about anywhere you need to go. It doesn't matter how tight, confined high up or down below, you and your impact wrench can make it work.

The last thing that is so appealing about an impact cordless wrench is the fact that often times, there is not any power to a particular job site. While this is not always the case, many times in the very initial stages of construction site, there are no utilities whatsoever. Having an arsenal of cordless tools like an impact wrench will make it possible to do the job regardless of whether there is power or not. Having a cordless impact wrench is a valuable tool to have at your disposal. So if you are in the construction line of work, you need to make sure that if you do not have a cordless impact wrench, you invest in one as soon as possible.

Part Time Jobs - 7 Tips to Finding a Part Time Job Faster

Tip #1 -- Get Your Job Search Essentials in Order

For your part-time job, you're going to need an up-to-date resume, a computer with a high-speed Internet connection, and a telephone. In finding part time employment, your focus should be more on finding something that fits into your schedule and abilities, than finding something in your ideal field.

Avoid noisy places when making phone calls and setting up interviews. When you get a call from potential employer, you don't want to sound unprofessional. Similarly, you definitely don't want to lose your current job while searching for your part-time position, so it's probably best to avoid any activities related to your job search at your current place of employment. Do not use your office phone number or your office e-mail for your job search activities (more on this below).

It helps to find a secluded place where you can do your research, free from interference or interruption. A good spot to go is a public library, especially if you have a laptop and can find a good study space that allows the use of cellphones or has a nearby area where you can talk on the phone.

Tip # 2 -- Set Up Email Accounts

You will need to set up a separate e-mail account exclusively for your job search activities. Many employers monitor corporate email activity, so just because you sent something from your "private" account doesn't exactly mean it's private.

Free accounts are available from any number of online service providers such as Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft. Be careful when logging on to a public computer: set up your account on a trusted machine and be sure to sign out of your email account if you leave the machine even for a moment.

Now that you have your resume perfected and free of errors, write a polite letter of introduction that can be modified for any position before beginning your job search. Many job candidates do not get a position because of a single misspelling on their resume or contact information.

Planning your search is as important, if not more important, than anything else you will do to find a new position. You can submit your resume to 1000 positions as a part-time welder, but if there is no welding experience on your resume, you will not get a single call, because a computer search for welder never saw your name. The only part-time jobs to which you will get any response are for those requiring no experience. It follows that if you are looking for a job requiring certain experience; your well-crafted, well-written and typographically correct resume must effectively display your previous experience and qualifications.

Tip #3 -- Use Online Resources

Job-search websites are an important tool for viewing and sorting through thousands of job listings online. Understanding how these sites work, what jobs they list, and what jobs they don't list is very important. Job search engine sites, such as monster.com and careerbuilder.com have millions of listings for positions. Websites such as indeed.com and simplyhired.com also exist that amalgamate jobs from multiple search engines, all in one convenient location.

Aside from the general sites, there are a number of vertically targeted job search engines that specialize in particular fields, kinds of jobs, and compensation. Try searching Google for "your town job board" (e.g. "New Jersey job board") or "industry job board" (e.g. "construction job board").

Find an online job board that works well for you and use it. It's important with these websites that you make sure your searches are very specific in their geographical location, as well as in the category of positions you're searching.

Also think about schedule. If your current position requires you to work in an office during the day, a retail position on the weekends or restaurants in the evening will make the most sense for you. Narrow down your job search to find only those that match your availability.

Tip #4 - Get Your Name Out There

Searching online and applying online is only half the battle. Networking is a crucial part of every job search, and can greatly expedite your search. Always have a copy of your resume with you and call or email everyone you know to see if they know of any positions for you. Most jobs never appear on the job search engines. When networking with someone, don't forget to ask the person for referrals to other contacts and don't forget to thank everyone who helps you or tries to help you (even if their leads wind up as dead ends).

Another positive about having your resume out there is that a recruiter might see it and offer you a full-time position. Instead of having to juggle two jobs, you might find a new job better than the one you are currently at.

Tip #5 -- Stay Positive

Be confident in your abilities, and don't be dejected if you don't find what you're looking for right away. Before you get the "welcome aboard," chances are you will be turned down by many people and computers. Don't take this personally -- there is always a job out there for you, so move on to the next opportunity.

Tip #6 -- Be Persistent

Keep posting to job boards and keep networking; persistence and diligence are the keys to success. Do not slow down your search just because you got an interview. Keep going until you have a job you are pleased with that pays what you want and fits your schedule. The best time to look for part-time opportunities is when you are already employed. Keep looking until you land a part-time position that meets your needs and pays your bills.

If an "OK" part-time position comes along, grab it. You can still continue searching for better opportunities.

Tip #7 -- Keep Your Guard Up

The only negative to adding your resume to job boards attracts a host of junk mail, dishonest offers, false offers, and advertisements for unneeded or unwanted services.

Follow this rule: if you receive an offer for anything other than a specific position with specified wages and specific hours, treat it like trash. If the person contacting you is offering you an "opportunity" or "help with your resume," be wary, because it is more likely an opportunity for them, not you.

Cordless Grease Gun - The Lincoln Powerluber is a Must Have!

In a busy auto shop, a cordless grease gun can make life a lot easier and more productive. Rechargeable cordless tools are everywhere these days and grease guns have joined the family. I would recommend this tool to anyone who is greasing on a regular basis from a professional auto shop to a construction company that owns a fleet of equipment.

The Lincoln Powerluber cordless grease gun is a great product for the professional mechanic. It comes loaded with features to help you get the job done.

My favorite feature is the two-speed switch that controls grease flow. This switch can be set to either give you high volumes of grease flow at 10 oz a minute at medium pressure or give a concentrated stream at high pressure. The high pressure setting will give you about7500 psi of working pressure! Your average grease gun simply doesn't give you that kind of versatility. Lincoln claims that in controlled conditions this model can reach pressures of up to 10,000 psi.

The Powerluber is well designed

The design of the Powerluber is another feature that stands out. Lincoln does a great job building a balanced tool that rides well in your hand. It is comfortable to use and can get you into most places to apply grease. This cordless grease gun has a slot to accept an optional shoulder strap which I would recommend getting. Especially if your climbing around large equipment to grease it. With the shoulder strap you can let the cordless grease gun just hang from your shoulder and grab it when you need some grease. A shoulder strap can also save you from dropping it on the concrete and damaging it too. This unit also comes with a 30" hose that is long enough to get into tight spots. The grip is also padded which adds to the comfort factor.

Powerful Cordless Grease Gun

Lincoln put a powerful little motor in this cordless grease gun to make sure there is plenty of power available. A powerful 14.4 volt high torque motor is the power source behind this tool. It's the reason this little jewel can pump out so much grease and give you higher pressures. The 14.4 volt batteries have enough juice to last and the smart charger can recharge one in under an hour. However, I would still recommend getting the model with 2 batteries. If you are using your cordless grease gun continuously, you will want to have the 2nd rechargeable battery warming up in the charger. This will allow you to make a quick switch and keep greasing. The Lincoln Powerluber is also easy to clean with simple access to clean out contaminated grease.

For the professional mechanic a cordless grease gun can be a great addition to your tool collection. Greasing can be a tedious chore, but with a Lincoln Powerluber, you can almost make it fun.

Great White Shark Cage Construction

Running a safe and successful shark diving expedition is a challenge no matter how you look at it. Professional cage diving operations make the process look simple but in reality, the myriad tasks involved in bring a group of divers to a remote location such as Guadalupe Island to dive with Great White Sharks provide a considerable logistical feat. One detail of great importance that often goes undiscussed is cage construction. Great White Shark cages are the workhorses of the industry as they spend the most time in the water on the front lines. Couple that with the fact that the cages are where the average shark diver spends most of his or her time and the need for safety, reliability and comfort becomes apparent.

Safety, for obvious reasons is at the forefront of shark cage design - it only takes a quick YouTube search to see the results of poorly constructed cages and how they fare when a shark comes into contact with them. Of course, a shark interacting with a cage is undesirable, but all cages should be constructed with that possibility in mind. In the shark diving industry, cage designs are unique. Certain operators prefer certain characteristics or features and often, the boat or dive site may play a role in design. Beyond personal preference, however, there are a few recognized design features inherent in the industry's best cages.

First, and most prominent is competent welding. Cages that are built with nuts and bolts are inferior for several reasons, some of which are quite obvious. Stainless fasteners on aluminum cages cause corrosion often resulting in a compromised cage, fasteners or both. Additionally, nuts and bolts need to be constantly monitored to make sure the affects of the ocean haven't loosened them. To overcome these inadequacies most commercial grade shark diving cages are welded. While there are several options when it comes to weld techniques, TIG (or Tungsten inert gas) is preferred. Cleaner welds, better penetration and easier access to every seam makes TIG welding the safest when it comes the great white shark cages.

The other key component to proper shark cage construction is the experience for the end user. Standing on your tip-toes or bending over during long stretches underwater can detract from your experience and have an effect on pictures and videos. Most Great White Shark cages have customized viewing ports for ease of use when it comes to underwater cameras that often incorporate strobes.

Before you make a decision on your shark diving vacation of a lifetime, make sure you research the cage setup - it's where you'll spend most of your time! Professional operators can speak knowledgeably about their equipment and are your best resource.

Soldering and Brazing Copper Tube and Fittings - Master Plumbing Tips

Soldering and brazing are essentially the same practice, but the only difference is the temperature of the flame used. The American Welding Society deems soldering as a joining process that takes place under 840 degrees Fahrenheit, and brazing as a joining process using a heat of 840 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Nonetheless, most soldering is done between the temperatures of 350 and 600 degrees Fahrenheit, and brazing is usually done between 1100 and 1500 degrees.

Choosing between soldering and brazing depends on the conditions of the welding job as well as the requirements of the governing construction codes. Solder joints are used for systems that are as hot as 250 degrees Fahrenheit, while brazed joints are adequate when a system's temperature is as high as 350 degrees or where greater joint resiliency is necessary.

There is another essential detail to consider when choosing between soldered and brazed joints. Although brazed joints are ideal for systems requiring greater joint strength, the rated pressure of a brazed system can often be less than that of a soldered system due to the greater degree of heat used in its process.

Too many people use inefficient or downright irresponsible techniques when installing their copper tube and fittings. Although soldering and brazing are the most common methods used for joints and fittings, they are the least understood methods as well. A mistake in soldering and brazing copper tubing will inevitably lead to faulty joints and leaking lines. There are many possible errors that can lead to improper installation, including:

- Improper joint preparation prior to soldering

- Lack of proper support and/or hanging during soldering or brazing

- Improper heat control and heat distribution through the entire joining process

- Improper application of solder or brazing filler metal to the joint

- Inadequate amount of filler metal applied to the joint

- Sudden shock cooling and/or wiping the molten filler metal following soldering or brazing

- Pre-tinning of joints prior to assembly and soldering

Soldering and brazing are essentially simple household operations, however it is easy to overlook or forget to complete particular steps in the process. It is by paying attention to these tedious steps that will make the difference between a joint that is strong and one that will be faulty.

Chemical Storage Tanks - Safety Tips

The explosion on chemical storage tank at Packaging Corporation of America, Tomahawk, Wisconsin, on July 29, 2008, which killed three people, has shown how chemical storage tanks could put hazard into reality.

The above accident did not represent the entire potential hazards associated with the presence of chemical storage tanks in a chemical plant. In addition, the condition become worst when chemical stored in the tanks are flammable, combustible, corrosive or even toxic.

Because chemical storage tanks present in all chemical plants, improvement of their safety is very important. That's why this article is written.

Safety tips that I will tell you in this article are extracted from the US Chemical Safety Board bulletin issued in February 2010 entitled Seven Key Lessons to Prevent Worker Deaths During Hot Work In and Around Tanks, and also from other resources.

1. Chemical storage tanks are made of compatible material that will not react with stored chemical.

2. Be careful when you decide to select tank fabricator or manufacturer. Check their products quality and track record.

3. Always refer to appropriate standards when you are going to go into design phase.

4. Some of tank ruptures were caused by defective welds. Effective monitoring and checking including welding test during tanks fabrication are vital.

5. A safe distance between each tank is provided. It will prevent chain reaction when fire occurs at one tank.

6. There should be at least two level indicators installed on chemical tanks to avoid level instrument failure. It had better to provide level glass or something like that for worker to check manually.

7. Do not forget to ensure there are also temperature indicators installed on the tanks. Decomposition reaction, which releases heat, can be easily detected.

8. Instrument calibration is required to ensure correct reading. Set up regular schedule for it.

9. Venting facilities are installed to accommodate over pressure or vacuum.

10. Check regularly the venting facilities. Make sure that they are not blocked by dirt and work properly.

11. Ovoid overfilling tanks. It can be achieved by a combination of manual monitoring or indicating, high level alarm and automatic shut off system.

12. Thickness and welding check may be necessary in some cases, suppose when contained chemical is a highly corrosive. Refer to applicable standards and experts at the field.

13. When you plan to do hydrostatic pressure test or full water test, consider tanks condition and their lifetime. Pressure standard may be slightly lower than the first hydrostatic test.

14. If possible use alternative methods to avoid hot work in and around the tanks.

15. When hot work will be conducted in tank that contains flammable liquid or suspected to be contain flammable liquid, ensure that all possible entrances or inlets have already been isolated. It is applied not only for the tank itself but all connected piping and surrounding the tank. If necessary, drain out all the flammable liquid from the tank and related piping.

16. Monitor flammable gas and vapor before and during the hot work. Use combustible gas detector.

17. Use written permit before hot work can be started in the storage tank.

18. Ensure that all personnel involved in the hot work are trained well, including contractor workers.

19. Secondary containment such as dike is necessary. Dike will reduce the possibility of bigger safety and environment problems when a chemical storage tank is ruptured.

20. Do not operate any storage tank more than allowable maximum operating level as it is designed to. If you frequently perform such operation, then it is strongly recommended to install new storage tank to avoid tank rupture.

21. Any drain valve installed on tanks should be equipped with valve locks, blind flanges or caps to avoid accidental opening or valve failure.

22. Catastrophic chemical storage tank is a kind of emergency condition. So it requires you to establish an emergency response plan.

Inadequate design, fabrication, construction, inspection and maintenance can lead to chemical storage tanks failure. Apply these safety tips consistently. In addition, you can make them as safety inspection checklist for the entire chemical storage tanks inside your chemical plant.

Cordless Nail Guns

Did you know that the use of cordless power tools on the job site can actually save you money? According to a recent report from the National Council on Compensation Insurance, Inc., the oldest and largest provider of workers compensation and employee injury data and statistics in the nation, "Without a doubt, cordless tools do help reduce trips and falls, entanglements, and electrocution injuries," noted Mark W. Kinsey, Broker/CRA/Consultant for PKG Insurance Associates, Inc., in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, head of NARI's Insurance Group. "Additionally, we believe it would make sense for the insurance industry to take this under consideration when writing insurance policies."

All of you contractors feel the effects of rising workers' compensation costs. These rising costs are driven largely by medical care and payments for lost wages when injuries occur. As a business owner, you can control these costs, protect your employees, and keep them at work by reviewing safety issues in the workplace.

Most power tool manufacturers today have created a cordless version of their nail guns. With the advent of the lithium ion battery technology, many of these tools are comparable in power durability, as long as you have two batteries: one battery charging while you are working with the other.

Paslode has taken a different approach to the cordless nail gun. In 1986, Paslode introduced the first cordless power framing nailer, the Impulse. The Impulse offered the power of a pneumatic without hoses. Still considered by many the industry standard, the Impulse features a patented combustion motor that provides freedom from compressors and cords allowing greater safety, portability and versatility. Basically, Paslode's nail guns are powered by a battery that sparks gas from a fuel cartridge.

Paslode's cordless Nailers have come a long way since 1986. The early models required daily cleaning, misfired enough to disrupt your work and replacement fuel cartridges were expensive. The new models however are relatively trouble free with only occasional misfires. The costs of the replacement fuel cells is $5 each. While this increases the operating costs of the Paslode nailer, the company says that each cell is good for about 2,400 shots for the IM250II. The Trim Master 18 and the Trim Master 16 use smaller cartridges, which are good for about 1,200 nails. Dated cartridges have an 18-month shelf life which is fine for the professional who uses them every day but something that the occasionally user should take into consideration. The fuel cells on the Paslode nailers work by mixing with ambient air so using a Paslode nail gun above 4000 feet in elevation requires a special "Blue Valve" high altitude adapter.

In addition to pneumatic and cordless nail guns, Paslode also manufactures a complete line of fasteners designed specifically for use with Paslode tools. ProStrip(TM) paper tape collated nails provide high holding power and ease of drive with a revolutionary designed collation tape that provides less breakage and waste, less debris on the job site, and minimizes flying debris for increased safety. Other quality Paslode fasteners include the TLN(TM) (treated lumber nail), the first corrosion-resistant fastener coating for treated lumber in residential construction, and FloorGrip(TM) fasteners, which improve residential subfloor construction.

** As with all power tools, hearing and eye protection are highly recommended.

How To Hire A Welder - Leave Your Construction Projects To Qualified Professionals

A large number of people who are planning to avail of a welder's services, whether they may be private customers or a business company, realize at the last moment that they are incapable of screening and hiring a qualified person.

This may sound like an odd issue to be bestowed with but truth be told, it is one of the many circumstances that many people have issues with. The issue is not simply about how to hire a welder, but also what to look for in a welder to ensure you are getting a professional who can fulfill your requirements to a high standard.

Of the two issues of how to hire a welder and what to look for in a welder, it is the first issue that is easier to arrange.

How to hire a welder

First of all you need to find a qualified welder, the best option for this is to look in reputable business directories available in your area. Most business directories have a list of welding businesses within your locale. You can find that some have paid 'premium' to have a larger advertisement and this may be beneficial as the ad will normally contain what types of welding the company carries out.

Once you come up with a welder or welding company that you think fits the job, it is imperative that you get in touch with them through the phone first to have a clearer view of their services. This is the perfect opportunity to ask how long their business has been established, about any work they have carried out, and also find out about any other qualifications they may have.

This will also give you the chance to discuss just exactly what your project entails and agree on a rough cost estimate before the actual meeting where you can inquire their quote for doing the whole project.

What to look for in a welder

When you meet a welder for the first time you can ask them for evidence of their qualifications. If you meet them at their business premises, they are likely to have every qualification and other pertinent documents at hand to show you.

Next, you can make a suggestion to inspect their work portfolio. This will display all of the past works they have successfully completed and gives you the chance to scrutinize if their standards are high enough for your requirements.

Finally, you can gauge how you feel about their work ethic and their interest in your work by meeting them face to face and examining their demeanor.

Summary

Finding a welder to hire, and understanding what to look for in one, is not as simple as many would think. Hopefully the tips stated above will be put to good use and be of help to you.

Importance Of a Tool Set In Every House

Tools are very important in every house. You won't know at find time some appliance in your house goes wrong and definitely it requires a deep cleaning wherein you require opening the appliances with the help of these tools. This can in deed save lot of your time and money rather than taking the broken appliance to the nearby repair shop or the service station where you need to wait for some time for your turn to show the problem. Still people are sometimes not convinced with this fact thinking that they are not good at the technical stuff.

This is absolutely not correct as most of these jobs do not require any high end technical skills and you can easily correct them by opening each and every interior portion by unscrewing them and cleaning through with a good piece of cloth in order to wipe all the dirt and dust out of it. There are possibilities that these dusts might have even entered the core bearings that must have lost the grip while functioning for a long period of time. In most of the cases the simple procedure works and for this you need not have to take the machine to your nearby repair shop.

Also sometimes situations can arise wherein you need to drill holes in your house for inserting or fitting certain racks or shelves. It is a waste of money to immediately call a construction worker to carry on this job. Eventually your work will be postpone for a long time as most of the workers may not be ready to come for doing such small works and even if they come they will charge lot of money from you.

This job can be easily done with the help of corded drills that helps in drilling a hole to the depth required by you with the help of the electric machine. You can buy these tools from any tool shop in your locality and while buying you must make sure to buy good quality ones so that it will remain with you for a longer time period. You might be concerned on the amount that must be spending for this purpose. Internet is the best place to check for tools as you can get them in highly competitive rates from different tool providers selling tools through ecommerce.

Effective Usage Of The Tools

It is very important to have small set of tools in every house. These tools are very important in order to carry on with the urgent repairing task that can arise any time in your house especially if your house is old. You might not know the ways to select the tools if you are a non technical person who is not at all used to doing all such activities. You can definitely seek help from a person who is well versed in this field so that you need not have to waste money in buying wrong devices.

There are many complicated tools in the industry and these tools are commonly referred as the engineering tools. There will be no use in having these engineering tools at your place if you are not an engineer. These tools are very important for many engineering companies specialized in various constructions and other repair works. In fact it is not easy to get these engineering tools in every store near your house. There are specialized stores selling engineering tools and these stores will be having the tools from different manufacturers. These tools are expensive and at the same time very difficult to make. You need to follow particular dimension and other geometry in order to make the engineering tools and any changes in the dimension can really make the tool useless without providing any required dimension.

There are many online providers on internet selling engineering tools and if you are planning to buy these tools you can widely search on internet. Also you will be able to get much vital information that has to be taken cared seriously while trying to buy the engineering tools. Also you can find a great difference in the price tag associated with the tools from the same manufacturer in online market when compared to the offline market. You should also take necessary steps to maintain the tools after using each time in order to avoid rusting the tools. You can search internet in order to find the correct methods for cleaning the tools and to keep them safely to prevent damage that can arise without proper cleansing activities. It is also not possible to buy the tools very often and at the same time you require the tools very often especially if you are working in the same sector.

Cordless Drills Buying Guide

A cordless drill is one of the common repair person tools. It can help to do the drilling tasks quickly. These tools are best for doing off-site work without electricity as they use lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. Because of its portability, it is superior to wired electric drills.

Different types of cordless drills

Before buying power tools it is important to know the specific function that you are require to perform. Because then it helps you in deciding the right tool to purchase. Here are introduction to different types of cordless drills.

Most common types are multi-function capability, they are ideal for home use. They can drill holes and can function as screwdrivers. Their adjustable clutches reduce the torque power applied to a screw.
It also capable of drilling bricks and cements. However, heavier these tools have the power to penetrate hard objects. Its special designed clutches function similarly with a jackhammer while spinning.
Cordless impact drivers are another type of cordless drills. These are ideal for driving large screws that are use for buildings. Due to their capability of sensing resistance, they automatically increase the torque power to prevent the bit slipping out of the screw head.
Cordless screwdrivers are ideal in making picture frames, shelves, and furniture assembly because of their size. In comparison with the other cordless tools, they are smaller and lighter. They also known as palm drivers for their size.

What are looking for in buying a cordless drill?

To buy a quality cordless drill you have to take care of the following things-

Take care of the battery of the cordless power tools. For more power and higher stability, a higher volt is required. 14.4 volt to 18-volt cordless drills is best for normal use. However, for long time using in construction sites a 36-volt lithium-ion tool is best.
Choose a drill that has a smart and fast charger. Now chargers are available that can charge a battery within 15 minute.
It's with lithium-ion batteries. However, these batteries are expensive but they have long lifespan. In comparison with their predecessors, they provide three times running time.
Take care about the torque power because a powerful torque can do the job quickly and efficiently.
Be careful about the trigger. It must be pressure sensitive.
Another important feature is the chuck of the drill. It must be one-sleeve keyless chucks. It allows a user to tighten the bits in place even with one hand. The chucks should be able to grasp the bits firmly and prevent slips.

Buy a cordless drill with careful assessment.

Tips on How to Build a Trailer

In the case of how to build a trailer, the initial step is to prepare the required materials and tools. They include metal sheets, main frame of a trailer, angle iron, a wielding machine, cut off saw, wheel and axle assembly, tongue and wheels.

To start off the trailer construction, you should decide a design for your trailer. You may choose one without a roof while a covered trailer can be rectangular, circular or your own customized shape. Include measurements in your draft to assist you in choosing the materials. Remember that you include a hitch, the instrument that link the trailer to your vehicle, in your trailer design.

Decide on the materials and measurements before you buy them. Always buy extra materials in case you need more for errors. While many are clueless when it comes to deciding measurements as they may not have experience on how to build a trailer, you can measure an existing trailer before modifying to your preferences.

The most significant element of a trailer is the wheel and axle set. You must ensure that your selected wheel and axle is sturdy and able to cope with the size of the trailer you intend to build. Then trace the trailer's body onto the metal sheets and cut the outline. Weld them together and make sure they are welded correctly to avoid gaps between the parts. Next decide the position of your axle, the rod placed in the middle of the wheels. If you prefer a trailer which tilts backward when it is not connected to a vehicle then your axle should be placed near the body's gravity center.

To continue the trailer construction process, you need to calculate the tongue weight. It is the quantity of force exerted onto the hitch by the trailer. To get the accurate weight, find out the weight of the full frame and the tongue is five percent of the total weight. Then turn over the frame to fix the tongue. It should extend from the frame to allow connection to a vehicle. The tongue includes the latch, a hand wheel and a coupler. The tongue should be above the axle. A usual tongue is made by two steel pieces with holes and a round bar is placed in the hole to link the pieces together. This permits the bending of the tongue for the trailer to turn properly.

Next a latch should be attached to the frame to give balance to the trailer. It also helps in hitching the trailer to the vehicle. Then attach the fenders to frame and weld them with low heat. This is to protect the wheel. To support the fenders you may attach the angle iron. Weld the angle iron together to strengthen the back of the frame. An open trailer will use this to support the gate. Painting may start after assembling all parts. If there is any rust remember to remove them to ensure paint can last longer.

Bosch PS10-2A 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Driver Kit

Bosch PS10-2A 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Driver KitWe'd wager there have been plenty of times you tried to maneuver a drill/driver into a spot that just wouldn't allow it and wished you had a small, powerful tool that would drive a screw where others just can't go. Here it is. The PS10-2A is one of the handiest, most powerful little drivers we've laid hands on. It's impressively powered by "litheon," which Bosch calls "the industry's most advanced lithium-ion battery technology." We can attest that there's absolutely no lag in power, and the run time is great; more than 100 drives per charge. Recharge time is just 30 minutes, so you should never have to wait for a battery. The best feature, of course, is the clever design. Instead of a pistol grip like most drivers, this one has a sturdy tool body and an articulating head that has five detents, letting you set it however you need it. The head itself is just 3-1/2-inches long, so it's no struggle at all to slip it into tight spaces suchas in between studs, under-sink cabinets, between joists and other tricky situations. If it's length you need, just flip the head to the vertical position and it's literally like having a screwdriver at your fingertips; it's not quite a-foot long at its full length. It uses 1/4-inch hex bits, and they're easy to change. We would have liked to see some on-board bit storage, but that's a small point. The two-finger trigger is comfortable, and it's quite sensitive, so take care not to strip your fasteners while you're on the learning curve. In all, we're really pleased with this little driver, and we think there's a place for it in just about every toolbox. Includes: tool, (1) carrying case, (2) 12-volt batteries, (1) 30-minute charger, (2) 1.5-inch drive bits.

Top 5 Tips For Detailing Software in Construction Design

Detailing is perhaps the most demanding of software requirements. It involves a staggering range of design requirements, including components, welds, reinforcements and even individual parts. This type of work was once an ordeal, rather than a job, particularly on big projects. Detailing software is now doing in seconds complex, advanced work that once took hours or days.

Detailing in detail- Managing the details en masse

Detailing is an areas where the huge practical advantages of engineering software become self evident. An expert designer using structural drafting software can turn a massive workload into an "assembly line" process instantly, by simply creating templates and design parameters.

The "assembly line" approach has infinite value to designers and construction engineers, particularly with truly massive tasks. It ensures quality and greatly improved completion times. For design contractors, this is a real "must have" capacity.

Specifications and detailing

Specifications and detailing require extreme accuracy. The "assembly line" also operates as a quality control in this field, but most importantly allows proper attention to details. This is a particularly valuable function for managers, to allow direct oversight of difficult design issues.

For example:

Highly complex specifications and detailing of some design elements must be done on a no-mistakes basis. These elements can be isolated and given intensive scrutiny to ensure performance values. They can then be integrated into the design stream with a string of correlates to ensure accurate configuration.

Sequential planning

Sequential planning is a fundamental aspect of construction. Stages of construction, building schedules, and sometimes dozens of contracts are based on this type of planning, and nobody wants grey areas in the plans.

Project managers will insist on reliable, well-constructed sequential planning at all stages of any construction project. Steel detailing is a case in point. This absolutely fundamental design area is critical to the entire construction process. Sequential planning ensures baseline oversight of structural construction, and operates as a driver for other schedules.

4D schedules- Simulations can make a big difference

"4D schedules" is planning jargon for scheduling. Simulations are often used to provide a working model of construction programs, sometimes in great detail. This is the graphic version of sequential planning, and it's invaluable for visualization.

You'll have seen simple versions of 4D, showing how a building or object is assembled. The professional version of 4D can cover everything from structural assembly to components, in a real time configuration allowing accurate time measurement and evaluation of site and construction issues.

Tasks and objects

Tasks and objects is design-speak for construction functions and design objects. Some tasks and objects are major issues, and they require intensive planning. Designers factor in these situations, and design the tasks to efficiently work with the objects.

In many cases, tasks and objects are used as cost savers. Designers work with them to streamline construction and reduce time usages. This is invaluable in terms of big projects, where it can drastically improve construction efficiency with a corresponding cost benefit.

4 Important Things To Consider When Buying A Cordless Drill

These days, it's not just the professional contractors who need a reliable and powerful cordless drill, but also the average handyman and homeowner. Cordless drills have become a required tool in most households and workshops.

Choosing the best drill is not easy though! They come in many different shapes, prices and sizes, and it can be rather hard to pick the best one for your particular needs. Hopefully, by the end of this article, you will have a much easier time picking out your perfect cordless drill.

First Things First

There are many different factors that come into play when you choose your cordless drill. The very first thing you want to figure out is just how you are going to use your cordless drill. Some are light, some are very heavy. If you are doing heavy construction you may need a drill that is very heavy and can handle the tougher jobs. If you are working on a home project or doing light construction work, then a lighter cordless drill may be appropriate.

How Much To Spend

Next thing to tackle is the matter of how much money you want to spend. Remember, you get what you pay for and when you are going to be relying on a cordless drill to complete jobs on time, you want to make sure you have a reliable drill. You can find numerous cordless drills in double and triple figures. Of course, your budget will be different if you are a profession craftsman or simply a homeowner working on a DIY project.

What Features Do You Want

After you have figured out how much you want to spend, write down the specific features you are going to need in your new drill. You might need one that will fit into tight spaces and one that will be able to handle heavy duty drilling. Based on these things, look for a drill that can specifically handle heavier jobs, or one that has an easy to maneuver head.

Battery Buying

And now on to one of the more frustrating aspects of owning a power tool; batteries and chargers. There are two main types of batteries that various drills come with, Ni-Cd and Li-Ion. There are a lot of other types of batteries, but these are the two most common. The biggest selling point of the Li-Ion is the longer battery life. This is something that really pushes people toward that type of battery. It's also best to consider a cordless tool that has a battery that is not going to be obsolete in the near future. This happens a lot as batteries tend to get updated often. The last thing you want is a battery that doesn't work on your next cordless drill.

To Sum It All Up

That's about it! Things to remember; be sure to purchase a drill that is in your price range, always go for the drill that is the highest quality in your price range, and don't settle on a drill just because it is cheap. More than likely, it is a low quality drill. The DeWalt Drills 18v is a great, high quality cordless drill. Another thing to consider is whether the drill comes with a LED light attached. It's a newer feature that a lot of people like.
